Having graduated from Southampton University in 1999 with a degree in Biomedical Sciences, I followed a successful career within the pharmaceutical industry. I was responsible for monitoring and reporting adverse events to health authorities from both trial and marketed drugs.

In 2012, I decided to change career to one I felt passionate about, and began working part time as a local maths tutor whilst completing a mathematics degree with the Open University.

Having enjoyed the experience of working with young people and tutoring maths so much, I decided this was what I wanted to pursue full time. I established Carl Evans Maths Tuition to provide 1-1 maths tuition for students studying Key Stage 3, GCSE, Further GCSE, and A Level.

Interests & Hobbies

When not working as a maths tutor I spend much of my time keeping fit by cycling, pilates and hiking with my Belgian Shepherd rescue dog 'Delphi'.

I read quite a bit of fiction, and enjoy studying other subjects such as physics and astronomy when I have time. I have a 9.25 inch diameter computerized telescope I use to observe the night sky.

Finally, I am keen on photography and enjoy taking shots of coastal landscapes and other areas of outstanding beauty such as the South Downs near my home in Seaford.
